Two Heads are More Colorful Than One

Image by Bill Gracey These are African Great White Pelicans , and I saw them this morning at the San Diego Zoo's Safari Park. These are huge pelicans. In the pelican weight lifting competition, some of these birds are suspected of using PGH (Pelican Growth Hormones). Nothing has ever been proven, but they do walk funny. Like most pictures, it looks best when viewed large. Please press "L" to see it that way. Bird In The Hand

Image by Bill Gracey This bird has been waiting to emerge for about ten days, and finally came out last night. I took this picture in the garden using a strobe in a softbox behind the plant at 1:00 O Clock, and a flash shooting through a white umbrella in the front at 5:00 O Clock to put a little light on the front of the flowers. I wanted the back lighting to be the dominant light, and it was just a matter of adjusting the two flashes accordingly. Like most photographs, it looks better large. Press "L" to see it that way. Little Bird On The Steeple Of The Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church

Located in Robinson County, there was no date given for the building, but it was obvious that it's been there for a long while; and it's still serving the community. The whole time I was there taking pictures, a little bird was perched up on the steeple, watching me.
