View On Black Picture of an artic tern holding a little fish in its beack. The photo was taken in the Inner farne, one of the Farne Islands. Photo d'une sterne artique prise dans les iles Farnes. Les sternes vont pecher des poissons pour nourrir les jeunes sternes.

Nesting Kildeer

This here is a Kildeer on its egg..They nest in a hollow in the ground in open spaces where they can watch out for predators .. If it sees something coming like me with my weedeater it makes a high pitch squeaky noise and runs away from its nest to draw you away from it . To make you think it is injured it fans out its wings displaying an orangy color and pretends one of its wings is broken hoping that you will follow it away from the nest.... anyway in the last picture you can see its nest and egg... No Kildeers were injured photographing this bird......Thanks to Theresa for teaching me how to post multiple photo's :-)

Unknown bird hanging out on pond with ducks, egrets, heron, vultures and cormorants. I've been taking pictures here since early this year and it's the first one I've seen. There were about a half dozen like him. North West Houston area, USA
