Cuculus canorus - Common Cuckoo - Ð¾Ð±Ñ‹ÐºÐ½Ð¾Ð²ÐµÐ½Ð½Ð°Ñ ÐºÑƒÐºÑƒÑˆÐºÐ° view large, please - it's an uncropped picture. I went for a bicycle ride in the forest south of Akademgorodok and heard a cuckoo. I stopped to look for it and noticed another one sitting in no more than 10 m from me, staring at me. I then saw the one I'd heard at first, perched on a willow nearby, and yet another one further to my right. I sat down on the road with my camera, and one of the cuckoos landed very close to me, then flew around me, then sat on a tall birch stump; I watched it feed - every now and then it would jump down to the ground or fly to the trunks of birches nearby to catch bugs and worms, but stayed very close to me. The sun was setting, but I was still able to take several pictures. I'm starting to get a feeling that cuckoos like me for some reason - they're said to be secretive and elusive birds and I've been seeing them a lot lately!

i dont know how it goes with you .. but in the sunny overexposure of camerapreview i take pictures on a guess-this-will-be-okey basis .. yes with the results a bit out of range

Love is unconditional. Don't talk about love with me. I'm not an expert on that :). But one thing about love I know, love is unconditional. It can touch every hearts of living things beyond time and space. Don't talk about kiss with me. I'm also not very good on that :). (Melanitta nigra) Estuário do Douro Gaia Portugal Tenho mais de uma centenas de fotos desta ave. Quando a vi (muito) ao longe pensei que era um corvo marinho e fui-lhe tirando fotos e aproximando-me cada vez mais. Cheguei a estar a cerca de 5 metros dela. No entanto, as boas notÃcias terminam aqui, porque embora a ave voe e não se deixe apanhar facilmente (avisei a brigada ambiental da GNR, por sugestão do P. Biológico de Gaia), está com as asas emaranhadas num fio de pesca que obviamente a incomoda. Enquanto lá estive não me apercebi nem do que era uma aparente linha branca nas penas, nem do porquê de a ave não parar de se catar. Só quando meti as fotos no computador e no processo de identificação da ave, com a ajuda da minha esposa, é que percebemos do que se tratava. Isso deve explicar o motivo de estar em terra. Além disso quando me aproximei voou para o meio do rio, mas mal me afastei voltou para o mesmo local. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have more than a hundred photos of this bird The first time I saw him I thought is was a cormorant and I started taking pictures and getting closer and closer. At one time I was about 5 meters from him. However the good news end here, because although the bird flyies and doesn't let herself get cought easily, he had his wings wrapped around a fishing line which obviously bothered him. While I was there I didn't realize about the situation. Only when I saw the pictures on the computer and went through the identification process with the help of my wife, we realized what it was. Wryneck - for the record

Jynx torquilla - Wryneck - вертишейка It was totally unexpected - I was watching a flycatcher frolic in the branches of a large pine when this little gray bird came to watch it, too. The place where that happened is pretty busy, there's a bus stop and a busy road nearby, a lot of passers-by, not your usual quiet birdwatching nook. I took several shots from a rather long distance, and the bird took off. When I'd looked at the pictures I realized that I'd seen a really interesting creature - the Wryneck. A blurry addition to my woodpecker collection :) I guess I'll have to hang around that place some more.

A blackbird perched on a small wooden bird house, I took this picture during one of my lately walks, it was pretty snowy but the weather was nice.
